Independent Movies: Atanic Films

En mayo de 2011, Rob Smart publicó este artículo "The complet exile: the films of Carlos Atanes", en Bright Lights Film Journal sobre el cine de Atanes en cuya producción he estado involucrada desde 1997.

 El autor describe a Atanes como un outsider: fuera de la industria cinematografica española; fuera, también (todavía), de la industria distribuidora americana. Sin embargo, Rob Smart parece atrapado por el singular y onírico cine de Atanes y espera que, con un poco de suerte, pueda producir otro largometraje, más ambicioso, con el que quizás pueda lograrse acercar al público a este "singular y abandonado director contemporáneo".

In may 2011, Rob Smart published "The complet exile: the films of Carlos Atanes" in the Bright Lights Film Journal. He sumarizes the essentials of the atanic cinema which I produced since 1997.  Rob describes Atanes as an outsider:  outside the established Spanish film industry and so far outside American distribution. By the way, Rob Smart seems to be hooked on the singular and oniric cinema of Carlos Atanes and he hopes "that with luck Atanes will soon achieve a breakthrough that will allow him to produce another and perhaps more ambitious feature-length project, one that perhaps will finally succeed at making the work of this singular and neglected contemporary director available to all of us".
